Bus Stop Shelter, 2008
Points of Interest, Braddock, PA
We participated in Points of Interest, conceived by Braddock Active Arts, a collaborative group of Braddock, PA residents that “aims to provide living models of possibility and transformation and catalyze sustainable growth and revitalization. We envision a community in which all residents are considered artists, empowered to change their own environments, and able to translate that empowerment into tangible social and economic benefits.”-taken from website. Points of Interest was a collaboration between local high school residents and artists invited from all over the country to activate dormant, under-utilized, or under-served spaces in the town. We built a bus stop at Hawkins and Rose in North Braddock using old doors collected from a salvage yard, and a fiberglass roof donated by Dipcraft, a local family business.
