Beyond Surplus: A Material Exchange Laboratory, 2006 [Design Build Workshop Leader]

In collaboration with designer Isabela Gould at the Illinois Institute of Technology. This design class was a plug-in laboratory for the Material Exchange network, designed to bridge between one donor institution ready to discharge waste materials, and one charity in need of objects or interior fittings. Our class had the opportunity to work with The Court Theater and the discarded set of the play “Fences,” and the Chicago Childcare Society, in need of various furniture and designed objects.
